Kim Downey is C.E.O. and Chief Recruiter of Downey & Associates, Inc. She has more than 14 years of recruitment and placement experience, most of them spent in information-technology search. She has helped connect nearly 700 candidates with new positions at more than 100 companies, mostly Fortune 500 firms, and has worked with Chief Information Officers on retained assignments at upper-executive levels.Before her recruiting career, Downey was a research assistant at The MacNeil Lehrer News Hour. She started in the search business with a New York recruiting firm for architectural designers and engineers,then came to Minneapolis where she joined the largest information-technology placement firm in the upper Midwest. Inthe decade that followed, Downey became the firm’s leading lifetime producer, billing almost $8 million. Downey & Associates was foundedin May, 2001, with a client base that encompasses operations, marketing, sales and technology executive positions. D & A’s information-technology expertise also includes management, project management, architectural,development, ERP, internet, quality assurance, network, database andsystems administration positions.
Downey has been a member of the Pinnacle Society, a national network of top-producing recruiters since 1993, and was named to its “Million Dollar” production group in 1996. Downey is a graduate of Vassar College.
